These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the mobile app Unfairlove (the “App”), developed and operated by Kanon Limited Partnership Company (花音合資会社), based in Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo, Japan (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
How we handle your personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
1. The Service
Unfairlove is an app for couples to keep track of small things they do for each other: a shared Wishlist of things that would make each partner happy, a way to report and confirm when something was done, and a personal score that reflects what you’ve contributed. Some features (see “5. Premium (subscriptions)” below) may require a paid subscription.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country if that is higher, to use the App. You sign in with a Google account, and you are responsible for keeping that account secure. Each pair connects exactly two people; you may leave and re-pair with someone else at any time from Settings.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for anything illegal, or in a way that harasses, threatens, or abuses another person, whether or not they use the App.
- Share your invite code or QR code with anyone other than the specific partner you intend to pair with, or otherwise try to access a pair you are not a member of.
- Attempt to interfere with, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the App or the systems that operate it.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your relationship to the person you invite.
We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, or that we reasonably believe is being used to abuse, harass, or defraud another person.
4. Your content
Wishlist items, custom templates, Done reports, Thanks messages, and any photos or custom stamp images you add remain yours. By entering them, you allow us to store and display them to your partner within your pair, and to process them as described in the Privacy Policy — that’s what the App is for. Photos attached to a Done report are deleted automatically after 90 days.
You’re responsible for what you write and upload. Don’t enter or upload anything that violates these Terms or someone else’s rights (for example, don’t upload images of other people without their permission, or images that are unlawful or sexually explicit).
5. Premium (subscriptions)
Some features are, or in the future may be, available only with a paid Premium subscription, purchased through Google Play Billing on a per-pair basis (one subscription covers both members of a pair). Pricing, billing period, and any free trial are shown in the App and in the Play Store listing at the time of purchase.
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel or manage your subscription at any time through the Play Store, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled according to Google Play’s policies, not by us directly, since purchases are processed by Google Play Billing. Purchases made through Google Play are also subject to Google Play’s Terms of Service.
6. Advertising
The Free version of the App displays ads served by Google AdMob, subject to Google’s own terms and policies. Premium subscribers do not see ads. We do not control the content of individual ads. See the Privacy Policy for what data is collected to serve ads and how to manage your choices.
7. Disclaimers
The App is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not verify or guarantee the accuracy of anything a user reports as “done” — the App relies on you and your partner’s own good faith. We are not responsible for disputes between partners arising from use of the App.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using the App and delete your account at any time from Settings, as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your access for violating these Terms, with notice where reasonably possible.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If you are a consumer resident in the EU/EEA or another jurisdiction with mandatory local consumer-protection laws, this section does not deprive you of the protections those laws provide you.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the App or on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continuing to use the App after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
